Things To Do in Shinjuku

Hello guys. Shinjuku is a good place to stay while in Tokyo because it's literally in the center and the most convenient place to be in. So many things to do in one place. Surprisingly, these places I'll introduce are somehow very nearby to each other if you don't mind walking. Guys, I present my top 10 things to do in Shinjuku.

Top 10 Things to do in Shinjuku
1. Go to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

There are 2 observation decks that you can choose from. You can get a panoramic view of the city from up there. If you're lucky enough, you can get a glimpse of Mt. Fuji as well.

2. Visit Hanazono Shrine

This is a good place to relax a little bit and find your inner peace in the middle of the city. This is a Shinto shrine. Something nice and quiet to stay even for a short time.

3. Try shopping in a Japanese drugstore named Daikoku

You can find lots of good stuffs there especially for women from snacks, cosmetics, medical related goods and the list goes on.Things can get a little bit confusing though because of the variety and selections.

TIP: 

a.)Plan ahead and decide on the things that you want to buy.

b.) If the total amount reaches 5,000 YEN, then you get tax free on all items. 

4. Visit Book Off

This is for all anime and manga lovers out there. The prices of the goods there are fairly reasonable and if you get lucky, you can steal a good item which looks very new with only a small fraction from the original price. Hurry and visit the place. Please include a little amount of patience and some handful Japanese expressions as well.

5. Shop in Don Quijote

Yes guys. The shopping never stops in Tokyo. This time, this place offers the widest range of items. You can basically find everything that you can imagine there. Once again, do some research first and plan what things to buy. The place can be very intimidating actually. 

6. Visit Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

It's a good place to get lost and be one with nature. It's a good breath of fresh air and let time pass by for a bit.

7. Play arcade games in Taito Station

It's a good way enjoy Japan and be in this place. Arcades are actually their national pasttime and huge part of their culture as well. Don't forget to try the famous PURIKURA, the Japanese photo booth.

8. Visit Robot Restaurant

I'm sure you've heard of this place already. If you're into some exotic fun and entertainment, then this is the place to be.  It's just a different twist to the usual eating out experience. Eat a good decent meal there while enjoying the show with all the live music and performance. I'll be one for the books certainly.

9. Visit Calico Cat cafe

Being in the place is already being immersed to a different environment. If you're a cat lover, then this place is heaven for you. Pet cats here and just be one with them. I'm sure you'll have a hard time leaving them behind.

10. Try Korean town, Shin Okubo

Going there can be quite busy since it's always crowded and busy. But if you don't mind it, then go ahead. You can enjoy good Korean street foods, reasonable cosmetics and a whole lot more.
