REVIEW : QUICK FX No- Shine Mattifier

Wow, can't believe that this is already the last week of March. Time totally run so fast recently. That means here in the Philippines, we will now welcome the summer months which is the hottest time of the year. I kid you not. Totally the hottest and the most humid of the year! OMG
Because of that, I am back to review another primer which can be easily bought in any leading Watson's store. What I am talking about is the QUICK FX No-Shine Mattifier. It's just around P80+ , very affordable.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
This is a light moisturizer  (but more of a primer) that helps hide imperfections such as fine lines and pores while providing an exceptional smooth matte finish. Also it helps prevent and treat pimples without drying out the skin.

The size of this 10g .
It has Salicylic acim Chamomile, Tea tea extract and MatteWax

HOW TO USE?

To use under makeup: Apply to freshly-cleaned skin. Pat on problem area and use your fingertips to blend the product on the skin

To use over makeup : Pat on lightly over makeup and blend for a smoother finish and more radiant looking skin.

** BEFORE AND AFTER

PROS

  • It is easily available in the market and pretty cheap.
  • It can have dual functions like that of a primer and moisturizer.
  • It somehow cancels the shine on my face especially on the T-zone area.
  • It makes my skin look dewy and smooth after applying on my face.

CONS
  • This product cancels the shine on the face but it doesn't last long so you need to re-apply once needed.
  • You need to wash your face  at night and make sure to remove the product on the face or else it will clog your pores and eventually give you breakouts like it did to me.
  • It doesn't really hide skin imperfections  like fine lines and wrinkles completely. That's quite understandable because of the price I guess.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I am impressed with the performance of this drugstore primer from QUICK FX. If you are on the look out for  a cheap moisturizer/ primer, then try this one. Also this summer heat totally screams putting on a good primer to somehow keep us fresh all day long without looking oily and greasy. You know what I mean. ^ ^
Have a good week ahead guys!

REVIEW : Nature Republic Botanical Green Tea Pore Primer

Hi, beautiful friends! How's your week so far? Now, I am here providing you a review about a primer. It's the Nature Republic Botanical Tea Pore Primer. Once again, this is part of my haul when I was Korea late last year. The main reason I bought this is because it smells like green tea, again one of the many instances of my impulse buying. Pardon me for saying that! ^  ^

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

Botanical Green Tea Pore Primer 30ml - (SPF30 PA++)
Contains 1000ppm of green tea extract.
Primer that covers pores with moisturizing and smooth finish.
Mineral oil, benzophenone, GMO, acryl amide, steroid, phthalate, talc free.

[How to use]

Pump a dime-size quantity and apply  evenly to the skin for minimized appearance of pores and fine lines following the application of  your skin care routine.
- Contents : 30ml

PRICE : 11, 000 WON

This is how the product looks on my hand. It comes out clear like a gel-type consistency.

After I spread the product, my skin somehow feels smooth, clear and moisturized. It's a very good base to prep my skin to the next skincare routine.

 PROS

  • The packaging is nice. It is in a transparent container clear enough to see the product inside
  • The smell is nice that is a mild green tea scent to it.
  • Having a pump makes the product hygenic and also we can control how much or how little like  we'd like to use it
  • It's very moisturizing on the face. Somehow it makes my pores look smaller.
  • It contains  a SPF 30 PA ++

CONS

  • It isn't long lasting on the face.  However, it can last up to 4-6 hours  on the face.
  • The product can't be easily bought in any leading stores in the Philippines.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

So far, I am enjoying this primer merely because it can somehow moisturize my face at the same time function as a primer.  An added bonus is the scent ( the mild green tea that is ). For now, if you have any recommendation about a good primer you're using, please let me know. I'd love to try new products and test them out if it works for me or not.

That's it lovely friends. CIAO!!

REVIEW : Pond's Age Miracle Dual Eye Cream

Hi everyone. This time I am back to do another review. This is a product that I swear by because of its effective results and the most reasonably priced eye cream product found in the market, that is  Pond's Age Miracle Dual Eye Cream.

It was like mid  last year of 2015 which I happened to find in Watson's.  I was constantly searching for a good eye cream product because I had noticed that lines, wrinkles, crow feet around my eye area seemed to be very visible especially after I belong  to  the 30's generation. The staff there in the store explained it so I decide to give it a shot. Eventually it didn't disappoint and now I am in my third container religiously using it on and on.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

The product costs P 495 in any leading Watson's stores.  The net weight is  20 ml. This special DUAL ACTION EYE CREAM contains 2 eye creams, PINK for the upper eyes and WHITE for the under eyes. Absolutely, the white cream is much thicker and creamier and  and the pink cream.

KEY BENEFITS

Soothes puffiness and lifts the upper eye area while brightening the under-eye with its unique combination of two gentle and soothing eye creams in one pack.

THE PINK UPPER EYE CREAM is enriched with cell boosting collagen and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet for a smooth and lifted look.

THE WHITE UNDER BRIGHTENING CREAM helps to stimulate the skin to reduce puffiness and dark circles to instantly brighten tired looking eyes.

It is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Collagen, chamomile and sun shield contents reduce the signs of skin aging that shows more obviously in the eye are like fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet. This miracle eye cream addresses  different eye concerns with potent- area specific creams.

This is what the product looks like when it's opened. It has a white lid cover with partition making it tightly sealed somehow. You can see the white and pink cream inside with a partition too. Such an innovative case I must say.

This is what the pink cream looks like when applied on my hand. It looks clear or white somehow. This is meant to be applied on the upper eye area.

This is how the white cream looks like when applied on the skin. You can clearly see it has a thicker consistency but it doesn't feel heavy when applied.

PROS
  1. You can easily easily blend both of the products independently on the upper and lower area. I have noticed that they are easily absorbed by the skin.
  2. With the inclusion of the white plastic lid, it seals in the products inside to keep them from drying out quickly.
  3. They can be a goo substitute fore eye primer. It's like a good skin care product and make up eye primer all in one item.
  4. A little goes a long way so you can somehow use it for 3 to 4 months .
  5. I guess it is reasonably priced eye cream available in the market.
  6. It surely works wonder in the eye area making it look smoother and my under eye condition

CONS
  •  I have no ill feelings about this product. ^   ^

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

If you're looking for a good eye cream that won't break the bank then this product is the best to try and use. It won't disappoint you. I think it's always good to invest in good skin care products like this one. I'm happy to say that it's already part of my skin care routine and I'm thankful I've discovered this. Without a doubt, this is
already one of my holy grail products.

With approximately 1 year and 2 months of using this eye cream, I am satisfied to say that the condition of my eye area has gotten better. The original shape of eyelids are back and deep again like in my younger days. Also, I have noticed that the crow's feet  and wrinkles on my upper eye area have lessen somehow.

A PIECE OF ADVICE

If you happen to know that SM malls have their 3-day sale, go their on the first day that is on Fridays usually before 12 NOON because you can this product with an additional 10% off from the original price. If you get luckier, sometimes they have existing discount already like 10%. That will surely be 20% off from the price. It's already a good steal making the price much cheaper.

REVIEW: SKINFOOD VIVA WATERPROOF BRUSH PEN EYELINER in BROWN

Hello lovely people! How's your Sunday so far? Hope you have all taken enough rest. Anyhow, for today I am back with another review. I'll talk about this SKINFOOD Viva Waterproof Brush Pen Eyeliner in brown. Actually, I was drawn to buying this because the staff in Skinfoods' outlet in Myeong-dong., SK was very realistic and persuasive and I actually bought her story and bought the item as well. How lame. HAHA
I just hoped that I won't have any regrets buying it because it was somehow expensive,  10,000 WON (just my own opinion only)

This is how the product looks like with its packaging. It's very pretty and chic.

WHAT 'S IT ABOUT ?

Name : Skinfood Viva-Waterproof Brush Pen Eyeliner
Production : Made in Korea
Shades : Available in black and brown

Product Information

  • Product : [Skin Food] Viva Waterproof Tip Pen Eyeliner ( 2 color )
  • Volume : 0.5 g
  • Color : Black / Brown
  • Description
Firm elastic tip for fine and clear looking eyes

Long lasting clean eye line with out smudging.

Firm sponge type tip pen give clear line even after one touch application.

     Waterproof liquid eyeliner.
  • How to use:
Shake content before using.Draw filling between eyelashes.

This is how the product looks on my hand. The felt tip is very flexible.

BEFORE I PUT ON THE EYELINER

AFTER I PUT ON THE EYELINER  ( Excuse my face ) ^ ^

PROS
- The felt tip of the liner is very soft making it easy to manage it especially for beginners.
- Also the color brown is a good choice for those who don't want to a very black liner.
- You can easily draw thick and thin lines according to your heart's desire.
-There is no strange scent of the product.
- Yes, it is waterproof and stays for hours.
- It can easily be removed using any products with oil unlike any other waterproof eyeliners in the market.

CONS
- The eyeliner tends to  crumble  and doesn't apply smoothly. I found out the reason. It was because of the heat and humidity of the house. haha
TIP : Store this liner inside the fridge to maintain  and restore its original quality, making it smooth to apply on the lids again.

- It easily dries fast while applying so you better be quick to apply and erase if there are some unintended lines whatsoever.
- It isn't advisable to layer the lines because it tends to wear off at time. The pile of lines on the lids tend to create some uneven  marks. :( Once or twice application is ok.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

This is a good liner to use to those who are always on the go and especially for travel because it's very lightweight and easy to use but I won't repurchase this again. The price is quite ok. Now, I'm still on the lookout for good eyeliner in the market. If you have any recommendations, do let me know. I'd love to try and test new ones in the market.

Have a good week ahead guys.

REVIEW : It's Skin Power 10 Formula WH Effector

Hello guys! TGIF! How's your week? Hope you enjoy this weekend. I am back to write another review about It's Skin Power 10 Formula WH Effector. I purchased mine when I was in Korea. The thought it was a whitening serum was the main reason why I purchased it. haha. Kidding aside, I was amazed the first time I tried this product on my skin so instantly  I grabbed it.  It was around W 12,000 won but you can now buy it online through ALTHEA PH. It's only P390. Yes, much cheaper. Here's the link for you to check them out.

This is the white bottle that has a 30 ml serum inside it.

The serum comes in this white thick bottle with a  transparent medicine dropper making it easy to dispense the product.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

The WH effector is a whitening essence with arbutin to brighten up your skin tone and lighten pigmentation. It can control the activity of tyrosinase and inhibit the formation of melanin with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Prolonged usage of the WH effector is claimed to reveal brighter skin tone and reduce freckles and pigmentation.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Polyglutamic Acid, Arbutin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Triethanolamine, Disodium Edta, Fragrance, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract

This is how the product looks on my hand. It's a bit watery compared to the other thick serum out in the market.

PROS
- I like how the product is easily absorbed on my skin.
- It's very lightweight to put on so you barely noticed it's there on the skin.
- You can apply it any dark or uneven  spots to any parts of your body.
- There is no scent to this whatsoever.
- The medicine dropper/ applicator makes it easy to apply the serum. You can also control how much or how little you want to use it.

CONS
- You can't buy it easily because it's just available online through some selected sites.
- You may not see instant results if your purpose is really to whiten your skin. However, if you apply this product on stubborn dark acne spots or any visible dark skin discoloration, then it  lightens the skin gradually like within 1 month of using it religiously.

MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS
If you're looking for a serum to whiten your skin then it's not the perfect product to use. It's only highly effective for stubborn dark spots on the skin like acne scars. However, I like mixing this serum with my BB cream for my everyday use.

FOODIES ALERT: Tarbush - Dumaguete

Hello everyone. How are you all feeling? Weekend is coming and I guess writing my review about a good food spot is quite the right timing.  I just went to Dumaguete city recently. I discovered this Lebanese- Meditteranean food hub  while searching the net. Of course, the shawarma  and pita bread lover in me automatically said that I had to be there to experience it myself.

WHERE IS IT LOCATED?
FYI: Got this from their facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/Tarbush-Dumaguete-1546181218933265/photos_stream

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

It's a newly opened food store that serves Lebanese- Mediterranean foods. Hurra--aaay to healthier and good food alternatives. They serve their all time favorite shawarma in 3 varieties namely fish, beef and chicken. Yes, you heard it right, no pork allowed. ^ ^

You can also refer to the images about their menu .Their food ranges from P50 - 150-ish something so you don't need to worry about burning a hole in your pocket while eating there.

One thing, I noticed is how authentic the taste of the foods they serve. It's just my opinion but I guess that's their approach to dining, less usage of spices to fully savor the original taste of the foods. Thumbs up for that.

Here are our personal pictures there during Valentine's day 2016!! Quite a good experience for us.

MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS

PROS
1) The foods really taste authentic and simple yet so flavorful.
2.) Their price ranges are quite affordable and friendly especially to the students.
3.) Despite their cheap prices, the amount of servings is pretty big and enough to satisfy anyone's stomach.
4.)  I like their variety of foods that cater young to old diners.
5.) Also, they prepare the foods in front of you and that means you are guaranteed that they only serve fresh food ingredients.
6.) It's a healthy alternative to dining without sacrificing our taste palates.

CONS
1. The location is somewhat far from the center just like in the  Boulevard area.
2. The place is a little narrow and small so you better come early to choose a good location to eat.

GOOD JOB Tarbush- Dumaguete for a job well done. Next time I'll be in Dumaguete again, then I'll surely see you soon and eat there for sure.
