BEST THINGS ABOUT DUMAGUETE

Welcome to Dumaguete City. It is a place where I can feel at home and be at peace with nature too. Definitely, it is a good place to escape and experience zen for a few days. Life always feels much better and slower when I am in this quaint city. Come with me as I unfold my photo diary in this wonderful place.

*I'll break this down to 3 categories to make it easy and organized.
A. Sightseeing places in the city
B. Food trip in the city
C. Do side trip : A short escape from the city

A. Sightseeing in the city
1.Visit Silliman University.
It's the first and oldest American university in the Philippines. It's established in 1901. It's only 3  minutes away from Rizal boulevard.

2. Stroll around Rizal boulevard
This place has a lot of things to see and do. You can catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunset/ sunrise here. Plus, the area also serves snacks that you can try and enjoy while talking with friends and locals alike.

The line of sellers in the Boulevard. They sell tempura, fish balls, squid balls and the like

3. Drop by the famous Sister of St. Paul of Chartres Monument
You won't miss it. It's just along the line of Rizal Boulevard.

4. Hear mass at the Cathedral.
Wherever we go, hearing mass will always be part of our travel routine especially on Sundays.

5. Visit the Belfry towers and offer some prayers.
People visit here to offer some flowers and prayers as well. People light some candles and pray for their own personal petitions and wishes.

B. Food trip in the city
Basically, Dumaguete has so many interesting food spots  anyone can truly enjoy. The range of choices is pretty good from appetizers to desserts. I have written something like this previously. I enumerated them one by one. Check this link for a more detailed review.
