REVIEW: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream In Morocco

Hi beautiful people. I've always been the traditional type of person wearing lipstick shades of red and pink and everything in between. Then one day, I thought why not try an orange-y shade this time to break the monotony.  Hmm that was quite an impulse right there. Haha Read on to find out my experience.

What's it about?

It is neither a lipstick nor a lip gloss. This matte lip cream is a new lip color  that goes on silky smooth  and sets to a matte finish. Soft matte lip cream is durable and lasts for a longer time.

About the shade Morocco, it is a bright shade of orange with a hint of coral too. 

The scent of this is like a bubblegum sweet candy but it disappears once applied on the lips.


How I feel about it and my experiences?

It instantly gives a huge difference on my face. I suddenly look healthy, happy and glowing. Haha

* The shade Morocco really looks bright and coral-y at first. I mean you can always make it look deeper and lighter depending on my application and layering. 

* Because it's a matte formula, the staying power is pretty long. But it may turn patchy and highlight the dry section of our lips so it's better to exfoliate and apply a heavy duty lip balm first before using it.

* The shade Morocco tends to make our teeth a bit yellowish so you can always brush your teeth pretty well or just apply this thinly / lightly making it not look  so deep and rich in color.

PROS

• The color pay off is really good.
• You can always make it look brighter or lighter. Very build-able
• Easy application on the lips
• Easy to use and comes handy
• Stays long and dries matte
• Really reasonably priced

CONS

• Makes out lips look patchy, dry and somehow flaky
• Makes our teeth look yellowish :(
• If you have dry lips, then this isn't the one for you.

My Final Thoughts

First, I really didn't like it because of the formula compared to Nyx's Xtreme Shine Lip Cream. However, I did find out that we can always layer them both. First, apply the shine lip cream then put the matte lip cream after. They just look good together. If you don't have that one, you can always layer it with any glossy lipstick / lipgloss.

Overall, I like this shade because it instantly lightens up my face making it look youthful and happy. A good happy color I must say. For now, I am on the lookout for other shades from this line hoping I can score a good color that matches me.

Review: It's My Perfume Hand Cream

Good day lovely friends! I am back to do another review to share my insights and experiences about my latest purchase from Althea. This is It's My Perfume Hand Cream  in Baby Bubble and Honey Berry. It was just an impulse buy I must say because of the cheap price. I kid you not. It's only P70! It's a bargain for me. ^ ^ Let's begin then. Shall we?

What's it about?

First, I have here It's My Perfume Hand Cream in Honey Berry. It has a combination of floral and fruit-y scent  from the berries. 

 Next, I have the It's My Perfume Hand Cream in Baby Bubble. Here it has a combination of floral scent with a slight kick of menthol/ cool scent. 

Both of these hand creams promise to make our hands soft, moisturized and supple. Also, this can be used to care for our fingernails as well.

** The size of the hand cream is 60 ml.

KEY INGREDIENTS : Shea butter, Sunflower seed oil and 4 flower extracts like rosemary, hibiscus, arnica and safflower.

PROS

• It is priced reasonably in the market.
• The size is big enough given its price point.
• It gives a non-greasy feeling once it's fully absorbed by the skin.
• It has a subtle mild scent.
• Also, it serves as a good cream for our fingernails. 
• It gives enough moisture and soften the hands after its application.

CONS

• The effect of the hand cream isn't long-lasting. It only lasts for  a decent few minutes to an hour.
• It can't be easily purchased in local shopping malls / department stores. 

MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Personally, I enjoyed using this hand cream. It gives the moisture I need and I don't mind reapplying this again and again. I already consider this a hand bag staple and I bring it anywhere I go. Worth the price indeed.

REVIEW : It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector

Good day everyone. Welcome back to my blog. Here I am back to update my serum routine. Surprisingly, it's from It's Skin again but this time it's their VC Effector ( Vitamin C serum) already. Pardon the Korean English right there. Thinking about vitamin C already made me curious so that's why I bought it. Let's unfold its beauty and see.

What's it about?

It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector ( VC stands for Vitamin C) is dermatologist tested and specially formulated with high-potency of Vitamin C derivatives, Green tea extracts and PGA  (Poly Glutamic Acid) to make the skin's surface radiant and eventually evens out the skin. Also it is made to tighten pores and refresh the skin to make it healthier, softer and even more glowing.

** The key ingredients found in this serum are the Vitamin C, Green Tea extract and PGA. 
** It contains 30 ml.

How about the packaging?

It comes in a light yellow tinted glass bottle. It also comes with a medicine dropper-ish (if that makes sense) that makes it easy to apply compared to pouring the serum from the glass bottle. 

The serum has a thicker consistency. It is somehow rich but it is easily absorbed by the skin once applied.  As expected, since the color of the bottle is yellow then the serum is that color too.  ^ ^

How to use it?

 **You can see here the thicker consistency of this serum on the skin.

** Pat it on gently the skin and viola. It's easily absorbed and it dries up neatly. Notice the difference on the color of my hands. It's lighter and brighter I suppose.

 Viola, that's an instant glow from within.



PROS

• It is the most reasonably priced Vitamin C serum in the market.
• It is light-weight and easily absorbed by the skin.
• It has a citrus-y smell to it which I like.
• It instantly whitens and makes the skin more glowing and healthy.
• It makes my skin's pores appear less visible.
• It also improves the elasticity on my face.
• It comes with a medicine dropper so it's very hygienic to use.

CONS

• It comes in a glass bottle. It easily breaks if you accidentally drop it.
• It can't be easily purchased in the department stores only through online shops.
• Since this product is a serum with vitamin C, then you have to use a sunblock after putting it on  protect the skin. It can't be used alone. 

My personal thoughts

Truly, I'm impressed with how this works on my skin. At first, I thought putting on a Vitamin C serum would be harsh but not this one. It's gentle enough on the skin. With continued use, I've noticed my skin lightened and brightened. It gives me that healthy and happy glow. I truly recommend this one 100%. It's worth the try!

REVIEW: Skin Food Choco Powder Eyebrow Wood Pencil

Hello again. I'm back here doing a review about my current favorite eyebrow pencil from Skin Food. It's just my holy grail product  these days and in my opinion, it is by far the best. ^ ^ Let's dig in and continue this review.

What's it about?

It's a wood-type eyebrow pencil that applies smoothly on the brows because of its creamy texture. Also, it makes the eyebrows look natural. I have here color # 3 that is described as gray brown.

It has 2 ends  here. On one end, it comes with the wooden eyebrow pencil itself and the other side  has an attached brush applicator.

** The size is 1.6 g.

How to use it?
Softly draw from the mid section of the eyebrow towards the ends and eventually fill in the inside. Use the attached brush applicator afterwards to make a beautiful finish.
**Putting on some concealer also helps to make the edges clean and smooth.
** Don't forget to put a hint of a highlight on the eyebrow arch to make it chic and fab.  ^ ^

Step 1. Make sure you've groomed your eyebrows already. It's much better also if the eyebrow pencil is sharp enough to make strokes on the eyebrow hair. Here are the natural shape and color of my eyebrows.

Step 2. I make my outline first on the upper part and lower part of my brows. This outline makes it easy to fill in later. 

Step 3. Viola! This is the finish product of my eyebrows. After filling them in, I use a concealer on the edges to make them more polished. Also, I put on some highlighter on the arch of both brows to make it fab. What do you guys think? ^ ^

PROS

• Pretty cheap
• Very creamy and glides on the eyebrows smoothly
• A very good start to any make up newbie who wants to try it
• Doesn't break easily
• The color really suits me well.

CONS

• It is only available in some online stores. 
• It's quite more expensive here in the Philippines especially in the Skinfood counters.
• It isn't very long-lasting especially during hot humid days. ( I don't mind re-applying it anyway. )

Welcome back to the blog. It's the month of July already and that means half of the year has been completed. Gaaah, that pretty quickly. Today I am back to do another review of the Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. 
** I want to understand what the hype is all about. That's basically the reason why I bought it. 

What's it about?

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel contains 92% real aloe that calms and moisturizes your skin with quick absorption leaving the skin cool and fresh. This Aloe Gel contains rich vitamins that calm  skin irritations and dry skin as well. It doesn't have any paraben, mineral oil and other artificial colors added.

** It only costs P 180 online.

** Can be used by all skin types
** The size is 300 ml.

HERE ARE THE MULTIPLE USES OF THIS ALOE GEL

• You can use this as a body and facial moisturizer. You can apply this on any body parts that need intensive moisture and it won't disappoint. Plus, you can save some bucks if you do this instead of buying the usual and separate sheet masks every time.
• It can be used to relax our tired eyes. Put this on a cotton and let it set onto the eyes for a cooling and relaxing effect.
• For men out there, you can use this as a shaving cream. It truly relaxes  the skin giving it a soft and cooling effect.
• You can also use this as a hair treatment or essence. Just simply massage this to the hair. 
• You can use this as a nail essence. It somehow gives moisture and shine on our fingernails.
• Because of the aloe vera content, this is an effective cream to relieve sunblock and even burned skin from cooking mishaps like this. 
• It is also safe to use for babies especially if they have allergies or rashes.
• You can use this a daily facial mask especially at night. Truly relaxing and will give you a good night sleep.

TIPS AND REMINDERS

•  For a more cooling effect, you can store this aloe vera tub in the fridge. The cooler it is, then the better  it is for our skin. ^ ^
• After using it, don't forget to tightly close the cover. It might spill all over the place and be messy.
• If you ask me to do a comparison between the Aloe Gel from The faceshop and this one from Nature Republic, then I'd definitely recommend this  one more from Nature Republic. The consistency is just thicker and it  feels better.
