Friday Favorites : COSRX One Step Moisture Pads Original

 Hello everyone! I'll introduce here an OG product that has been a staple in my routine ever since I started this skincare journey. I also know that this product is no stranger in the community I believe. I think I have here the old and new packaging of this one. Is it right? 

Anyhow, let's go back to business and tell you why these pads are my all time favorites. First, these pads are generously saturated already with toner and also textured to gently exfoliate the skin. Talk about multi-purpose uses right there. Second, they help to  minimize oil control and prevent the appearance of skin troubles.

 Hello. It's a brand new week again. That means we need to run errands, hustle hard and do a lot of things and I all file them under adulting. Before we do all those things, I and my hubby like do sheet mask together to prep ourselves. Why? It helps us wake up quickly in the morning and cool us down at the same time too.

Why we both like the masks? 

- These masks are perfect for that on-the-go hydration  since they only take 1 minute to use and viola! Done.

- They make the face nourished, relaxed and less tired.

- Perfect to use in hot summer mornings

- They're something easy to use and still deliver good results somehow

- Just don't mind the fit of this sheet mask on the face ( the only con for us)

*** Overall, we did have a good experience using these sheet masks today. Actually sheet masking is a good way to start our day right. The refreshing sensation helps us calm down and prepare ourselves for a busy week ahead.

REVIEW: Tea Tree Fresh Calming Toner by Secret Key

Hello guys! It's already the last week of July. Can't believe it's August soon. So fast! Well, I am back with another review. This time it's a toner from Secret Key. Let's keep this going then.

What does it claim to do? 

This product is suitable for soothing and calming oily, combination and acne-prone skin types. It's a lightweight watery substance that's infused with green tea, tea tree and aloe extracts to provide a refreshing moisture and hydration to the skin while calming existing blemishes.

Key Ingredients  

* Floral Extracts - to ensure additional moisture and makes the skin ready to take on the next skincare step

* Lemon and alcohol combination - act like an astringent to cleanse and purify the pores to prevent future breakouts

SIZE: It's 248 ml

PRICE: It costs around P 250 online.

SCENT: It literally smells like tea tree which I don't mind at all.

TEXTURE: Has this runny and watery texture.

FEEL ON THE SKIN: It feels very lightweight and because of that it's easily absorbed by the skin.

My Overall Thoughts / Experiences   

• Mainly, it's my hubby's toner. As for me, he likes it a lot especially when he's breaking out. He added this toner calms down his skin and makes the troubled part less swollen and less red.
• Since I have combination skin type, I mainly use this on my T-zone. It works better that way.
• Since this toner contains alcohol in it, I suggest to use this for only 2-3 times a week or only focusing on the troubled skin parts to be safe since alcohol tends to be drying on the skin when used regularly.
• As for my hubby's observations, this toner makes his skin less oily. He also likes how refreshing this feels on the skin too.
• This toner stays true to what it claims to do. Good thing we're both quite tolerant to having alcohol in our skincare products. We didn't experience any bad reactions / effects from using it.
• Overall, it's  pretty decent toner to use to begin with. For its price point and size, it's still worth the try but with caution still because of the alcohol ingredient in it.
• One note though. I feel like people with dry skin might dislike this.
• Will I repurchase this? Not anytime soon I guess since I still have other toners to use and empty.

• To be honest, I wasn't very certain how this review will flow. I'll just focus on what it claims to do, its effects and basically that's it.
• SCENT - It has this mild powdery smell. Not overpowering at all in my opinion.
• PACKAGING - Very straightforward. Also, I like that it's travel-friendly. The round shape of its cover is good enough for that easy grip.
• EFFECTS - I've used this for a good amount of 2 weeks. I've noticed my underarm skin condition has gotten smoother. It also looks better overall.
• THE BEST THING of this is that it helps me feeling fresh all day. Something very reliable to use for my everyday needs.
• ? JUST be careful though since it's on the liquid form. It somehow takes a few minutes to make it fully dry on the skin.
• Overall, this is a very decent product for my underarms. It does what it is supposed to do. I'll prolly repurchase this once it goes on sale perhaps.

My Overall Thoughts / Experiences

• EFFECTS - Instantly, skin looks and feels refreshed, revitalized and glowing. 
• SCENT - You can definitely smell hints of tea tree from the essence / mask.
• FIT - It's pretty decent but not the best in my opinion.
• TEXTURE - It has this tacky feel to it but I don't mind it at all since most masks are like that anyway.
• About the brightening effect, I feel like it isn't very noticeable somehow.
• Overall, this mask gives me this pleasant experience. It somehow delivers what it is supposed to do. I feel like this mask is good to use at night since it gives you this relaxing sensation as you prepare to sleep. Also, for its price point which is P50.00, I am quite satisfied with what it gives to my skin. That added boost of hydration is always an added bonus.

FYI : I've read the instructions at the back of this mask that you can use this warmly. Something new to try soon. We'll see.

REVIEW : Matt Lipstick by Eyenlip

Hi friends! It's my first time in ages to properly do a makeup review especially a lipstick one. With that said, I'm truly happy when I got chosen as one of the reviewers. Yay to small victories like this!

Shades
#01 Vladi Red - A bold red color that perfect for date nights and special events
# 02 Ruby Red - A red color with hints of pink  that's good for an everyday look
# 03 Sunset Coral - A good color that looks very youthful and vibrant to the eyes
# 04 Caramel Pink - A good neutral color that basically goes with everything you wear
#05 Muhly Pink - This I call Barbie Pink-ish concept. A good pink color to start the week right with a bang.

Packaging

• All 5 lipsticks are kept in a pretty silver bullet and burnt orange lip cover.
• The lipstick case itself looks sturdy and stylish.
• The shape of the lipstick is good enough for that easy application. The sharp points of the bullet makes it easy for me to make clean and polished edges.

Texture and Pigmentation

• It has this creamy feel to the skin and glides smoothly on the lips too.
• They have this solid color. Very pigmented. One swipe is basically enough.
• The color is buildable and versatile. You can go for a sheer, gradient lips or add 1-2 more swipes for a strong and full lip look.
• They have this semi-matte texture.
• They also have this lightweight feel on the lips. Very comfortable to wear actually.

Longevity

• I feel shades 1, 2 and 3 have weaker lasting power. They somehow dry down into this pretty sheer shade without retouching.
• Shades # 4 and 5 have this stronger lasting power. The color fades but still more intense than the other 3. They stay on pretty well throughout the day without retouching.

My Overall Thoughts / Experiences

• I personally like the packaging of the lipsticks. They remind me of Dior snow lippies.
• The formulation is another good thing. They don't emphasize the dry cracks on my lips. ( It's still best to prep your lips accordingly since they are on the semi-matte side. )
• The color range is pretty and flattering to wear. The red shades have already captured my heart to be honest.
• The quality is also up there even if they are reasonably priced. Quality is never compromised.
• They don't feel sticky at all. They just sit comfortably on the lips.
• I also like the mild sweet scent they give. It reminds me of cotton candy for some reasons.
• My favorite shades are definitely 1, 2 and 3.

REVIEW : Sebum Out Oil Control Mist

Hello everyone! As you already know, I live in this tropical country that is always hot and humid all year round. Today, I have here a good product that you're surely love and enjoy using to make our skin shine free. I am talking about The Sebum Out Oil Control Mist by W. Lab Global. Let's continue then.

What is it about?

This is a sebum controlling mist that contains solid particles that absorb excess oil and sebum on the skin. It also contains tea tree water that fights against pimples.

Scent : Smells like wet grasses in my opinion. Literally the tea tree smell is out there.

Size : It has 50 ml.

Packaging : It comes in this usual spray bottle type.

How do I use it?

• First, I use it as a regular mist, probably 1-2 pumps is enough per use.
• Second,  I mix this with my toner to double the effect of hydration.
• Third, I use this to wet my sponge for my makeup application.

My Final Verdict

Basically, it's a pretty decent product. It does the job as expected. It also helps me feel refreshed and cool down especially on a hot day. Next, it keeps oil at bay for about 4-5 hours. Most importantly, it doesn't disturb my makeup. Overall, since I've misting these days then this is definitely a keeper. I can easily use this anytime anywhere to hydrate myself and make myself shine and oil free at the same time too. A good combination for the win.

REVIEW : Benton Cosmetics Aloe Hyaluron Cream

Your girl always welcome the idea of having a new cream. Why? It's because it's that one product that I use twice a day religiously in my skincare routine. Having this new cream is definitely a welcome addition in my collection. Anyhow, let's get to know this new product then.

What is it about?

It contains 40% of aloe vera leaf  which is rich in polysaccharides and 7-Hyaluronic acid which hydrates and nourishes your tired skin step by step. It is also a white cream with a light moist texture which can be used AT THE LAST STEP of your skin care routine. This cream smoothly forms a moisture barrier which allows a smooth finish leaving your skin very soft and supple to touch. In addition, it's free of artificial fragrance, coloring, volatile alcohol, PEGS and other bad ingredients to the skin.

Key Ingredients
*** Aloe Vera Leaf Juice Powder + 40% of Aloe Vera Leaf Juice = allow an extra hydration sensation to help soothe and protect the skin
*** 7-Hyaluronic acid revitalizes all skin types

Size: It has 50g. Very travel-friendly indeed

Packaging: It has this minimalist packaging. Nothing fancy and very straightforward.

Scent: It has this silicone / plastic smell which I really dislike. Good thing it fades away after a few seconds.

Texture and Consistency: It appears like a white cream at first and transforms into this white cloud and gives this thin white cast. It literally takes time and patience  before it'll be fully absorbed into the skin.

Effects: It makes the skin soft, supple and nourished.

PROS

• It may be thick at first but once its absorbed, it doesn't feel sticky anymore.
• The appearance and texture of the skin looks better and healthier. Like sleeping for a good amount of 8-10 hours of sleep.
• This is a perfect product if you want a minimized skincare routine.
• Saves some bucks since it functions like a cream and a serum in just one product.
• Definitely does what it claims to do. It's very moisturizing.
• Has this good and natural ingredients. Only the good stuffs for the skin.
• Makes the pores less visible and has this slightly brightening effect.

CONS

• For people living in the tropical climate, this is very tricky to use. A tiny amount is needed to cover the whole face  or else it will take forever to blend and make it work.
• Don't use this if you're sweating because it has a tendency to be messy and get heavier in consistency.
• I was literally bathed in sweat when I used in normal room temperature. I had to run inside my bedroom, turned on the AC just to make myself comfortable.

My Final Verdict

Personally my hands and emotions tell me this product isn't the one for me but my skin actually needs it. I don't see myself using this everyday and only when my skin feels dry and very dehydrated. Actually it's a good product for evening skincare routine and that works perfectly in my opinion. One more, I feel like this cream will work better when the weather gets a lil cooler and less humid. Ok, I'll just put it this way. I need it but I don't really love it. 

TIPS: This works better like an after sun cream since it provides moisture and cools down the skin. Also, it works best on the dehydrated parts of my skin like my feet, elbows and knees.

My Overall Thoughts and Experiences

• This mask has absolutely exceeded my expectations. It feels very soft and clean which is similar to a high grade cotton material.
• The essence is a gel-type consistency which makes it less messy to apply on the skin.
• I noticed a tightening effect while I had this mask on the face.
• Instantly, my skin looks fresh, glowing and rejuvenated.
• Also, it feels plump, firm and supple.
• On a side note, it does feel a little tacky so I used my jade roller to let my skin absorb all the goodness back in.
• Overall, it really does improve my skin complexion. I can see myself using before attending events to achieve that instant glow. Absolutely a healthy and glowing skin is achieved every time you use this mask.
• Lastly, the effects of this mask do last up to the next day so it's definitely a keeper already.
